The SAO welcomed representatives of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe

On June 13, 2011, four delegates from the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of Europe visited the SAO. The aim of the delegation’s visit to the Czech Republic is to monitor the state of democracy and administration at local and regional levels and to prepare a report, which would include recommendations for the future development of the field.

During the meeting at the SAO, the delegates were informed about the structure and powers of the SAO as well as about the amendment to the Czech Constitution and Law No. 166/1993 Sb., on the Supreme Audit Office, which tackles the SAO’s purview to municipalities and regions. The participants of the meeting also discussed local administration and its management as well as auditing possibilities in municipalities.
