5th meeting of representatives from the Czech and Slovak SAIs focused on parallel audits of the administration of the excise duty

Press release – 20. 4. 2016

From April 20th to 21st, 2016, representatives from supreme audit institutions of the Czech and Slovak republics met at the SAO’s training centre for auditors in Přestavlky (Central Bohemia). Representatives of both the SAIs informed their colleagues about advances in cost surveys and efficiency calculations in the area of excise duties and about complying with the mutual audit requirements related to the parallel audits of the administration of the excise duty. They also exchanged information, which will be used as a basis for the composition of the final audit reports that would inform about outcomes of the parallel audits.

This co-operative activity was initiated by representatives from the supreme audit institution of the Slovak Republic in September 2013, when they expressed their interests in carrying out a parallel audit with the SAO, which would focus on the topics related to taxes. As a result, the first meeting took place in January 2014 and a co-operation treaty was signed by top representatives of the Czech and Slovak supreme audit institutions in August 2015.
