EUROSAI – European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions

Logo EUROSAI

EUROSAI (European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions) is one of the seven regional organisations of INTOSAI. It brings together 50 supreme audit institutions (SAI) of European countries and the European Court of Auditors. The aim of the organisation is to promote professional cooperation among EUROSAI members, to develop a common professional audit terminology, to organise training courses and seminars, to promote the exchange of information as well as to maintain relations with national and international audit institutions. In 2020, EUROSAI celebrated its 30th anniversary.

The Supreme Audit Office hosted the XI EUROSAI Online Congress in April 2021, marking the start of its three-year presidency of the organisation (until May 2024). For more information on the SAO's presidency of EUROSAI, please visit the following link: https://www.eurosai2021.cz.

The SAO chaired the group from 2017 to 2021 together with SAI Germany. Now, SG1 is chaired by SAI Lithuania and co-chaired by SAI Germany. However, the SAO manages two projects within the working group: the EUROSAI database and the Benchmarking Information Exchange Project (BIEP).

EUROSAI database

The aim of the project is to create a comprehensive and clear database containing audit reports published by EUROSAI SAIs and interesting audit materials, such as manuals, guides and examples of good practice from individual SAIs and EUROSAI working groups.

There are currently several EUROSAI sub-databases, namely the database of audits, the database of products and the database of surveys. Currently, the SAO is working on consolidating the databases into a single database.
