New Member of the SAO Board Tereza Koucká Hőfferová took her oath before the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

On Monday, 16 February 2026, Tereza Koucká Hőfferová, a new Member of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) Board, took her oath of office before Tomio Okamura, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, and thus assumed her new position.

The current Director of the SAO's Legal Department has been working at the SAO since 1999. She has held a number of positions at the SAO, from a lawyer-auditor to the Head of the Defence Unit to the Director of Legal Department. She has extensive knowledge and experience, which she will be able to put to good use in her position as a Member of the SAO Board.

She was elected to this position by Members of Parliament on Wednesday, 28 January 2026. In a secret ballot, she received 144 votes out of 177 MPs present. SAO President Miloslav Kala welcomed her election. According to him, thanks to her previous work experience, Tereza Koucká Höfferová will be able to excellently manage even the most demanding audits entrusted to her. At the same time, he acknowledged that the new Member would strengthen the representation of women in the SAO Board. She will replace Jan Stárek, whose term of office has ended.
