On September 12–13, 2013, an annual meeting of representatives from the supreme audit institutions of Austria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic (V4+2) took place in Piran, Slovenia.

Among the main topics of this year’s V4+2 meeting were the SAIs’ experience with risk analyses (a presentation about the tool for detection of uneconomical public procurements was given by representatives from the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic), fiscal sustainability and financial stability, tackling fraud and corruption, and effectiveness standards of the SAIs. The delegates also went through current joint audit operations, which aimed at cross-border co-operation programmes, discussed the outcome of this year’s Conference on Public Procurement that was headed “Value for Money”, and talked about budgetary risk management. During the meeting, top representatives of supreme audit institutions of the V4+2 Group elaborated a communiqué appealing for better public financial management and control in connection with the latest developments in the EU financial management.

The next meeting of representatives from supreme audit institutions of the Visegrád Group, Austria, and Slovenia is going to take place in 2014 in Austria.
